I am 39 by now, turning 40 in September, aye yeah!
And no, I don’t feel the way I have 20 years ago. I remember pretty clearly how I felt in summer 2005, shortly before turning 19. I thought: This was an awesome year, THE year being 18. Yes! 🙂
I had successfully arrived and integrated in Amsterdam, studying double bass in the jazz department at the conservatory. In summer 2005 I had additionally been accepted in the classical department, I was eager and worked hard, but most of all: I had found lovely friends and yes, life was fun.
Luckily I didn’t know what was about to come.
I’m sure it’s always better that way, we just shouldn’t know the future because we can’t do anything good with such knowledge… However, life didn’t always stay as much fun and glory than this first studying year in Amsterdam.
And now! Today!
Ah, it’s my sunrise. I don’t feel particularly young, but strong and more able than ever – to do the things I love, enjoy them deeply and share my joy with you. I’m ready to start. And I don’t give a f*** about how old you’re supposed to be to day dream and head all along with your visions. I am as old (or young) as I am and today is the day.
I’ll be singing songs of mine (how else could it be), and musicians I love, Lebensfrühling will guide me through this special evening and I’ll unfold some of my magic sounds that always give me this sensational feelings like “how on earth could I have lived in the old days without theses sounds…?”
You can be sure of one thing:
I just have started.
